Tenancy rights cannot be established without substantial evidence to support claims under applicable tenancy law.

Headnote:The applicants challenged the 8th Additional District Judge's decree in Regular Civil Appeal No. 4 of 2006 concerning tenancy rights derived from the deceased's service in the respondent society. The Court found insufficient evidence supporting tenants' claims. The key questions framed involved tenancy rights under the Bombay Rent Act. Hence, the application was dismissed with a grant of six months for vacating the premises.
