The petitioner has filed the present petition for quashing of FIR No. 64 of 2022, dated 7.4.2022, registered at Police Station Dehra, District Kangra, H.P., for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 451, 354, 323, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and consequential proceedings arising out of the said FIR based on the compromise effected between the parties.
2. It has been asserted that the FIR was the outcome of some misunderstanding between the informant and the petitioner. Both parties are residents of the same village. They are well known to each other and want to maintain a cordial relationship. The matter has been compromised between the parties with the intervention of respectable members of the society, elders and the members of the family. The informant does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise. Hence, the petition.
3. The statement of the informant/victim was recorded on 14.5.2026, in which she stated that she had entered into a compromise with the petitioner voluntarily without any influence from any person, and she does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise.
