JUDGEMENT
1. This criminal appeal is directed against judgement of conviction and order of sentence dated 20th October 2014, passed by court of Additional Special Judge, Anticorruption, Kashmir, Srinagar in File no.65/B-166/B titled as State v. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, in connection with case FIR no.25/2006 police station VOK and for setting-aside the same.
2. I have heard learned counsel for parties. I have gone through Trial Court record, impugned judgement, and considered the matter.
3. Facts, as is the prosecution story, are necessary to be sketched out. It had been on 30th June 2006, when one Mudasir Ahmad Wani S/o Mohd Jabbar Wani R/o Mirhama (complainant) approached Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) with a written complaint. He stated in his complaint that he was running a commission-based centre at Mirhama and distributing ration among people of the area on behalf of CA&PD Department and at the end of the month he was required to deposit the statement in the office of Supervisor, Mirhama Circle. He visited the office of Supervisor concerned, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, appellant herein, but he refused to accept his statement and made a demand of Rs.1000/- as bribe, which he arranged.
