ORDER
The petitioner has sought for issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to cancel the birth certificate at Annexure-‘A’ and issue endorsement.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the birth certificate at Annexure-‘A’ dated 19.07.2012 has been issued in respect of the petitioner and that the petitioner’s name has been wrongly mentioned in the said certificate as 'Aakanksha Bhaatt'. It is submitted that her name is actually Aqsa Bhat. It is submitted that date of birth that is mentioned in the original birth certificate is 29.03.1991 though it should have been 01.12.1996. It is submitted that necessary representation has been made to the respondents under Section 15 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (for short 'the Act') read with Rule 11 of the Karnataka Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1999 for correction.
3. It is further submitted that representations at Annexures-‘B’ to ‘F’ have been made. The representations made by the petitioner are self explanatory and relate to mistakes stating to have been committed relating to the spelling as well as date of birth.
