This petition is filed under Section 439 of Cr.P.C. seeking

regular bail of petitioner/accused in Crime No.65/2021 of ACB

Police, Bengaluru District, for the offences punishable under

Section 7(A) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amended

2018.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the

petitioner and the learned High Court Government Pleader

appearing for the respondent/State.

The factual matrix of the case is that this petitioner

has demanded an amount of Rs.12,000/- and it was negotiated

for an amount of Rs.10,000/-. Based on the complaint, this

petitioner was trapped and recovered an amount of Rs.10,000/-

at the instance of this petitioner herein. A case has been

registered and the same is under investigation.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner

would submit that this petitioner is in no way connected with the

alleged offences and he is neither demanded nor received any

money and he has been falsely implicated in the case. He is

working as Junior Assistant Meter Reader in the office of the

Assistant Engineer, Srirampura. The allegation is that this

petitioner is a Government employee and question of fleeing

away from justice does not arise and
