KARNATAKA HIGH COURT - PRINCIPAL BENCH AT BENGALURU
SRI. B. JAYARAME GOWDA – Appellant
Versus
STATE OF KARNATAKA – Respondent


The petitioners are before this Court seeking for the

following reliefs:

a) Issue a writ of certiorari or any writ of like nature and

quash

the

bye

law

7(a)(I),

(II),

(IV)

of

the

Cosmopolitan sports and Cultural Association having

office Cosmo Bhavan, ring Road, Chikkhonnenahalli,

Hassan 3 573 202 amended on 30/01/2022 vide

Annexure-B to the writ petition and consequently issue

- 4 -

a writ of Mandamus to amend the bye law of the society

permitting all the 12 directors to contest for the post of

office bearers of the managing committee.

b) Issue a writ of certiorari or any other writ of like nature

and quash the notice dated 20/07/2022 bearing

No.121/22-23 issued by the secretary to Cosmopolitan

Sports and Cultural Association i.e., 3rd respondent

society vide Annexure-O to the writ petition.

c) Issue a writ of Mandamus or any other writ of like

nature and direct the respondent No.2 to hold elections

to the managing committee members as prayed in the

representation dated 19/07/2022 vide Annexure-C to

the writ petition and,

d) Grant any other remedy that this Hon9ble Court deems

fit in the facts and circumstances of the case.
