ORAL JUDGMENT
The appellants being the wife, son, daughter and mother of deceased has filed application under Section 16 of the Railway Tribunal Act, 1987 claiming compensation of Rs.8,00,000/- along with interest at 12%p.a. from the date of claim petition till its payment on account of death of deceased in a railway accident that occurred on 15.11.2017.
2. It is the case of the claimant that the deceased on 15.11.2017 went to Davanagere Railway Station and procured a journey ticket and boarded Bangalore-Hubli Passenger Train and when the train reached near Byadagi Railway Station and moved towards Haveri Railway Station, due to heavy rush and thrust of passenger, the deceased stumble and fell down from the train due to which he sustained injuries and succumbed to injuries.
