preliminary objection that the writ petition is not maintainable in view of the alternative efficacious remedy available for the petitioner under Section 49(C) of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the lands granted to the petitioner in the year 1982 are now sought to be cancelled on the ground that the lands are forest lands. However, learned counsel submits that interim protection should be given to the petitioner, even if the petitioner is required to approach the tribunal.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of, reserving liberty to the petitioner to approach the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal to redress his grievance. Nevertheless, for a period of three weeks, the respondents are directed not to precipitate the matter any further to enable the petitioner to approach the Tribunal and seek interim directions.
