The petitioner, who is the Election Commissioner of Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha, has filed this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India , seeking a writ of mandamus commanding respondents 1 to 3 to render adequate and necessary police protection for conducting the smooth and peaceful completion of election of that Sabha, against the threat, intimidation and harassments of respondents 4 to 11 and their men.
2. On 17.03.2021, when this writ petition came up for admission, the learned Government Pleader took notice on admission for respondents 1 to 3. Urgent notice on admission by special messenger was ordered to respondents 4 to 11, returnable by 19.03.2021. The learned Government Pleader was directed to get instructions.
3. Respondents 4 to 11 have filed counter affidavit, opposing the reliefs sought for in this writ petition, wherein it is stated that there is absolutely no bona fide in the petitioner approaching this Court seeking police protection alleging threat to law and order in connection with the process of election.
4. On 19.03.2021, after considering the rival contentions, this Court found no reason to grant the interim relief sought for in
