JUDGMENT
Dated this the 1st day of March, 2024 The petitioners have filed this writ petition aggrieved by the attempt of respondents 3 to 5 to establish a Bevco Liquor Outlet in Valiyaparamba Junction in Mala. The petitioners state that opening of such an Outlet at the proposed site would create a lot of problems. It would result in traffic blocks in an area, where there are several shops and establishments on either side. There are large number of Educational and Religious Institutions in this area. The peace of the area will be disrupted. Earlier when there was attempt to start an Outlet, due to public protest, it was then decided not to open the Liquor Outlet there. Now, the respondents are again trying to surreptitiously start the Bevco Outlet.
2. Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners had earlier approached this Court filing W.P(C) No.29047 of 2022, this Court disposed of the said writ petition directing the Regional Manager of the Bevco to hear the representatives of the petitioners before issuing an order of setting up the Liquour Outlet in the Mala Grama Panchayat.
