The petitioner is the accused in Crime No.571/2023 of Ramankari Police Station, Alappuzha District alleging the commission of offences under Sections 341 , 354, 354A(i) & (ii) and 509 of Indian Penal Code .
2. The allegation against the petitioner is that, on
11.10.2022, at about 9.30 p.m when the defacto complainant was standing near her house, the petitioner/accused called her to a nearby road and there with an intention to outrage her modesty and with sexual intent, caught hold of her hand and attempted to pull her close to his body. It is also alleged that when the defacto complainant escaped from his clutches, the accused told the defacto complainant that she is extremely beautiful and requested her for sexual favours.
3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner and the defacto complainant are both members of the same political party. It is submitted that the complaint was filed only on account of certain disputes between the petitioner and the defacto complainant.
