The wife, who lost her case for declaration of exclusive title over the property held in the joint name of herself and her husband, and for recovery of gold, is before us, challenging the judgment and decree in OP No. 501 of

2015 on the file of Family Court, Thiruvananthapuram.

2. The appellant and respondent, who are renowned artists, fell in love and later they solemnised their marriage at Sree Guruvayur Temple on 07.09.1980. They lived together as husband and wife, and a son was born in their lawful wedlock. The appellant was a classical dancer and the respondent was a Kathakali artist. On 10.04.1997 and 16.04.1999, two plots were purchased in their joint name and a dance academy by name ‘T.M. Dance Academy’ was started in the building constructed in that property. According to the appellant, the respondent was a drunkard and a womanizer, and he had illicit connections with the housemaids which eventually caused their separation in the year 2013. According to the appellant, she expended money and purchased the schedule property in the joint name of herself and her husband.
