These writ petitions are filed by persons who have maintained Fixed Deposits or have Savings Bank accounts with the Mavelikara Taluk Co-operative Bank Limited. They have approached this Court being aggrieved by the fact that the amounts in Fixed Deposits have not been paid despite maturity and that the amounts lying to their credit in the Savings Bank account are also not being paid to them.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the Bank would submit that on an approximate basis, the liability of the Bank under the Fixed Deposits itself will come to nearly 105 crores while the loans recoverable amount only to Rs.19 c
