JUDGMENT
The writ petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:
“i) to issue a writ of certiorari or such other appropriate writ order or direction to the respondents to call up the records and proceedings leading upto Ext.P9 and quash it. ii) to issue a writ of mandamus or such other appropriate writ direction commanding the respondents to issue to the petitioner her caste certificate as Muslim or Islam.
iii) to declare that despite her conversion to Christianity from Muslim does not deprive her community status of OBC.”
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner had married a Christian and had converted to the Christian religion by Baptism, she would still be entitled to the benefits of OBC certificate on account of the fact that she was born as a Muslim. The learned counsel would rely on Ext.P10 decision of the Apex Court and Ext.P11 Office Memorandum to contend that even in spite of her conversion to Christianity, the petitioner would still be a Muslim.
