JUDGMENT

The petitioner had approached the 2nd respondent Corporation with an application for building permit for construction of a building having a ground floor and seven floors above that. Ext.P1 is the building permit issued to the petitioner in the year 2002. The said building permit was valid upto 2005 and while obtaining the said building permit, the petitioner had already obtained the preliminary fire NOC based on a plan, that was approved by the Director of Fire Safety. Thereafter, in the year 2006, the petitioner applied for an extension of building permit. The said application, however, was not considered by the respondent Corporation primarily for the reason that, there were enquires, that were being conducted against various buildings, that were put up in the region, at the instance of the Chief Town Planner. The application of the petitioner for extension was, however, subsequently considered by the respondent Corporation pursuant to directions from this Court and it is not in dispute that the building permit issued to the petitioner now stands renewed upto 03.09.2018.
