R1&R2 SRI.P.M.SHAMEER, GOVERNMENT PLEADER THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 09.04.2024, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:

JUDGMENT

Dated this the 9th day of April, 2024 The petitioner says that unfortunately, she is under severe threat and intimidation from her own son – the 3rd respondent. She concedes that the 3rd respondent is now in jail but that his henchmen are still outside who are acting under his dictates; and further that she fears that when he is released from jail, the threats would be escalated. She says that she, therefore, approached respondents 1 and 2 for protection, through Ext.P3; but that no action has been taken thereon, thus forcing to approach this Court through this Writ Petition.

2. In response to the afore submissions of the petitioner, as made by her learned counsel, Sri.Jamsheed Hafiz, the learned Government Pleader – Sri.P.M.Shameer, submitted that the Police have taken very serious note of the complaints of the petitioner and are affording her all protection from the 3rd respondent and his men. He added that such protection will be provided on a continuous basis and that the Police Authorities will act as and when required, reassuring this Court that the petitioner need not have any further fear.

3. Recording the afore submissions of learned Government Pleader, I allow this Writ Petition; with a consequential direction to the 2nd respondent to ensure that the life and property of the petitioner is adequately and effectively protected at all times from the 3rd respondent or any other person acting under him.

This Writ Petition is thus ordered.
