THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING HAVING BEEN FINALLY HEARD ON 02.11.2024, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:
JUDGMENT
The writ petition was submitted by the petitioner, seeking the following reliefs:
"i) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to convene DPC and to consider the suitability of the petitioner to be promoted to the Vacant post of Associate Professor.
ii. Declare that the Petitioner is eligible to be promoted to the Vacant post of the Associate Professor in Psychiatry in the 2nd Respondent institute.
iii. Such other writ, order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit in the facts and circumstances of the case."
2. The main grievance highlighted by the petitioner is that, he was not being considered for promotion the post of Associate Professor of Psychiatry from the present post of Assistant Professor.
3. When the matter came up for consideration today, it is pointed out that the respondents have already reconsidered the case of the petitioner, by taking note of the research papers submitted by him and a decision has been taken to include the name of the petitioner in the list of persons to be considered by the departmental promotion committee for promotion.
In such circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to ensure that the claim of the petitioner for promotion be considered along with the other eligible persons, and appropriate decision be taken within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
