Dated this the 28th day of June, 2024 The writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking to direct respondents 1 and 2 to correct the Date of Birth of the petitioner from 04.03.2003 to 04.04.2003, in Ext.P2 Marks Statement and consequential correction in CBSE Records of the petitioner kept by the respondents.
2. The petitioner is a student, who is aspirant to overseas higher studies, currently pursuing Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). She completed her Secondary School Examination in the CBSE scheme in the year 2018 having studied at the 3rd respondent school. The petitioner's correct Date of Birth is 04.04.2003, as per her Birth Certificate. However, an inadvertent mistake led to her Date of Birth being recorded as 04.03.2003 in the CBSE records. This error was reflected in the Marks Statement of Secondary School Examination and other CBSE records.
3. Immediately upon realising the discrepancy, on
02.09.2022, the petitioner applied for correction in the CBSE records to align the Date of Birth with her Birth Certificate. However, her application was rejected by the Regional Officer, the 2nd respondent, pursuant to Ext.P3, citing Rule 69.2 of the Examination Bye-Laws
