JUDGMENT
The petitioners seeks for the following reliefs:
“i. To direct the 2nd respondent to take over the investigation concerning the FIR Nos. stated in the table in paragraph no.2 of the writ petition and all other connected FIRs;
in the alternative:
ii. To direct the respondents 3, 6 and 7 to conduct a fair and effective investigation and to conclude the said investigation pertaining to the FIRs stated in the table in Paragraph 2 and connected FIRs within a period of two months;
iii. To issue such other orders, directions or writs as may be prayed for under the facts and circumstances of the case.”

The issues raised by the petitioners relate to the investigation regarding deposits taken by an establishment called, Fashion Gold International Pvt.Ltd at Cheruvathur, Kasargod and its sister establishments. Several crimes have been registered against the company and its directors. Petitioners allege that due to inaction of the investigating officer, proper investigation is not being carried out. This writ petition is filed seeking a direction either to hand over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or to conclude the investigation within a time limit.
