JUDGMENT
The appellant was the petitioner in OP(MV) No.1892/2008 on the files of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Kottayam. 2. The said claim petition was submitted by him seeking compensation for the injuries sustained to him in a motor accident that occurred on 19.05.2008. According to him, when he was walking through the road, he was knocked down by a car bearing registration No.KL-35-2047, driven by the 1st respondent. The said vehicle belonged to the 1st respondent and was insured with the 2nd respondent. The appellant was 55 years old at the time of the accident and was working as a driver by profession with a monthly income of Rs.6,000/-. He sustained serious injuries, which resulted in permanent disablement as well. The claim petition was submitted in such circumstances.
3. The 2nd respondent/insurer filed a written statement admitting the coverage of the policy but disputing the liability. The quantum of compensation was also objected to by the said respondent.
4. The evidence in this case consists of Exts.A1 to A11 and the disability certificate was marked as Ext.X1.
