These original petitions are directed against the impugned interim order dated 19.01.2023, rendered by the Kerala Administrative Tribunal, Ernakulam Bench, in these original applications, whereby it was ordered that there shall be a direction to the official respondents to engage candidates included in the ranked list published by the PSC for the post of Driver Grade-II (LDV) in Panchayats/various Government departments in the respective districts after disengaging casual/daily wages/temporary drivers engaged from open market, provided in the Panchayats/offices irrespective of the expiry of the ranked lists. The impugned interim order dated 19.01.2023, rendered by the Tribunal in these cases, reads as follows:-

“The applicants submit that they are willing to be engaged temporarily in the vehicles in the Panchayats/offices under various departments where vehicles are available and drivers are engaged temporarily as Drivers (LDV). They also pointed out that when there is a ranked list in force, the appointments cannot be permitted to be made on daily wages at the whims and fancies of the authorities concerned.
