This DBP is registered based on Report No.1 of 2023 of the learned Ombudsman in Petition No.1 of 2023, filed by the Travancore Devaswom Board, seeking permission for enhancement of the rate of Ganapathy Appam Vazhipadu at Vazhapilly Devaswom, Changanacherry Group. In the petition filed by the Board, it is stated that Vazhappilly Sree Mahadeva Temple coming under Changanacherry Group is administered by the Board. Vide Board order No.ROC 1895/11/NS dated 07.05.2011, the rate of the Ganapathy Appam Vazhipadu was fixed at Rs.940/-, out of which Rs.765/- is towards supplier charges and Rs.175/- towards Muthalkootu. The Deputy Devaswom Commissioner, Haripad, vide Annexure A report dated 28.05.2022, reported the necessity to enhance the rate of Ganapathy Appam Vazhipadu, considering the hike in the price of the raw materials. Accordingly, a proposal statement was prepared for enhancing the rate of Vazhipadu amount of Ganapathy Appam to Rs.2,600/-, out of which Rs.2,100/- is towards supplier cost and Rs.500/- towards Muthalkootu.
