JUDGMENT

Dated this the 7th day of April, 2022 The petitioner has approached this Court seeking to direct respondents 2 and 3 to consider Exts.P7 and P8 respectively and to change the name of the petitioner as well as that of his father in Exts.P1 and P2 Certificates as expeditiously as possible or at any rate, within a period of one month.

2. The petitioner completed his 10th Standard in the year

2013. He completed his 12th Standard in the year 2016. The petitioner through a gazette notification changed his name as ‘Nizamudheen Noorudheen’ instead of ‘Nizamudheen’ mentioned in Exts.P1 and P2 Certificate. Thereafter, the petitioner filed application to correct his name in the School Certificates.

3. Though the petitioner submitted Exts.P7 and P8 request before respondents 2 and 3 for changing the name in the records so as to avoid any complication in the future, the applications were not considered. It is in such circumstances that the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 to 3 filed a statement. The Standing Counsel submitted that the Hon'ble Apex Court delivered its judgment in Jigya Yadav v. Central Board of Secondary Education [2021
