JUDGMENT

Dated this the 08th day of November, 2021 The petitioner herein was employed as a Thakil under the Dewaswom from 2014 onwards. He was under suspension on an allegation that he had consumed alcohol while on duty. Thereafter, he was suspended by Ext.P3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has been proceeded against, by virtue of Ext.P1 to Ext.P3 wrongly, and he has requested for reinstatement. Pending the proceedings, it was brought to the notice that there is a provision for appeal. Accordingly, the petitioner has submitted that he has preferred an appeal before the first respondent on 05.10.2021. This is recorded.

2. After having heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the Devaswom Board, I am inclined to dispose of the writ petition itself by directing that the first respondent shall consider the appeal dated

05.10.2021, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard to the petitioner, either physically or online.

3. To be on the safer side, the petitioner shall also cause a copy of his appeal dated 05.10.2021 along with a copy of this judgment to be forwarded to the first respondent by speed post, within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
