O R D E R

The petitioner is the accused in S.C.No.444/2020 of the Special Court for the Trial of Offences Against Women and Children (Additional Sessions Court-I), Manjeri arising out of Crime No.219/2019 of the Vazhakkad Police Station, Malappuram for having allegedly committed the offences punishable under Sections 363 , 354(A))I)(i) and 406 of the IPC and under Section 7 r/w 8 of the POCSO Act .

2. The victim is the 3rd respondent herein, who has appeared through Counsel Adv. K.S Praveen. The victim has filed an affidavit as Annexure C stating that the matter has been amicably settled and that she has no existing grievance against the petitioner. The offences alleged are purely personal in nature and no serious prejudice will be caused to the public if the settlement is recognised. Further, possibility of the case ending in conviction is also very remote, if not impossible due to the said settlement. Recognising the said settlement augurs better in the interests of all.
