JUDGMENT

Even though various averments, assertions and allegations have been made and urged by the petitioners in this writ petition, when this matter was called today, their learned counsel - Shri.A.S.Shammy Raj, submitted that his clients will be satisfied for the time being if this Court directs the competent respondent to take up and dispose of Exts.P4 and P6 representations, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. Shri.A.S.Shammy Raj submitted that he is making this request because all his clients' claims had been detailed in the afore representations and that they are confident that if same is properly considered by the respondents, they will obtain sufficient relief.

3. In response, Shri.T.Naveen, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that there is no legal impediment in Exts.P4 and P6 representations being taken up and disposed of; but prayed that this Court may not make any affirmative declarations as to the entitlement of the petitioners to any relief and leave it to be decided by the competent Authority, in terms of law.

In the afore circumstances, I allow this writ petition and direct the competent Authority of the 1st respondent to take up Exts.P4 and P6 representations of the petitioners and dispose them of, after affording an opportunity of being heard to them – either physically or through video conferencing – thus culminating in an appropriate order thereon, as expeditiously as is possible, but not later than two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

Needless to say, since I have not considered any of the other contentions or reliefs urged and made by the petitioners in this writ petition, they are all left open to be pursued by them, if it becomes so necessary, in future.
