Successive application for regular bail under Section 439 Cr.P.C.
2. The applicant is the 7th accused in Crime No.1225 of 2020 of Anthikkad Police Station, Thrissur, for having allegedly committed offences punishable under Sections 341, 302, 392, 506(ii), 212, 120B, 109 read with Section 34 of the IPC. His earlier bail application (BA No. 8651 of 2020) was dismissed, and he is again before this court seeking bail for reasons stated in this application.
3. To recap the prosecution case, the applicant is a person having criminal antecedents having ten criminal cases registered against him. He was involved in Chitty business and had rivals in the business, some of whom were his own men who had switched allegiance to the other side. For the purpose of collection of money due, use of force was often resorted to, and it also led to constant clashes between the rival gangs. The applicant had, due to the intensity in rivalry and increase in criminal cases against him, moved his residence to Goa, where he was ostensibly running a restaurant.
