JUDGMENT
The petitioner maintains a current account with the third respondent Bank. The account was freezed on 25.11.2024 on the basis of the requisition from the second respondent police authority. Notice was issued to the petitioner on 10.07.2025 by the bank mentioning the amount as Rs.150/-.
2. The learned Central Government Counsel appeared for the first respondent. Learned Public Prosecutor appeared for the second respondent and the learned Standing Counsel appeared for the third respondent Bank.
3. The learned Public Prosecutor, on instructions from the second respondent, submitted that no other requisition is received from any other police authorities. Therefore, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition with the following directions: (i) The third respondent Bank is directed to confine the freezing of the petitioner’s bank account only to the extent of the amount mentioned in the order/requisition issued by the Police Authorities.
