This instant report has been filed by the Special Commissioner regarding the filling up of the vacancy of Sub-Inspector in the Devaswom Vigilance Wing.

2. When the matter was taken up today, the learned Government Pleader submitted that Sri. Deepu K. S., presently functioning as Sub-Inspector, Puthur Police Station, Kollam Rural, has been appointed as a full-time Sub-Inspector in the Devaswom Vigilance Wing. The said submission is recorded.

3. The learned Government Pleader further submitted that the delay in issuing formal orders was on account of the ban imposed on transfers and appointments pursuant to the Model Code of Conduct.

4. Considering that the Mandala–Makaravilakku season is underway at the Sannidhanam, the continued presence and supervision of a Sub-Inspector in the Devaswom Vigilance Wing is absolutely essential.

5. In the above circumstances, and in exercise of the powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India , the concerned respondent is d irected to forthwith issue orders appointing Sri. Deepu K. S. as a full-time Sub-Inspector in the Devaswom Vigilance Wing.
