O R D E R

This is an application seeking regular bail, filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita ( BNSS ), 2023.

2. The petitioner is the accused in Crime No.85/2025 of Kayamkulam Excise Range Office, Alappuzha. The offence alleged against the petitioner is punishable under Section 20 (b) (ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act , 1985.

3. The prosecution case is that on 22.08.2025, the petitioner was found in possession of 1.56 kgms of Cannabis (ganja) for the purpose of sale.

4. The petitioner was arrested on 22.08.2025 and he has been in judicial custody since then.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Pubic Prosecutor.

6. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that having regard to the quantity of the contraband substance involved, the petitioner is entitled to be released on bail.

7. The learned Public Prosecutor opposed the bail plea of the petitioner.

8. No material has been produced before the court to show that he has any antecedents.

9. Having regard to the nature of the allegation and the tenure of judicial custody undergone by the petitioner, I am of the view that the petitioner is entitled to
