This Devaswom Board Application is filed by the Travancore Devaswom Board seeking to take over the building presently occupied by the 2nd respondent, namely, Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham, at Sabarimala, for the purpose of providing essential pilgrim support facilities during the Mandalam–Makaravilakku Festival of 1199 M.E.
2. By order dated 12.11.2023 in DBA No.11 of 2023 and SSCR No.76 of
2024, this Court passed an interim order permitting the Travancore Devaswom Board to utilise the buildings occupied by the Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham at Sabarimala for providing pilgrim facilities during the Mandala–Makaravilakku festival season of 1200 M.E. (2024–25). It was further directed that possession of the said buildings, for the aforesaid purpose, shall be handed over by the Sangham to the Executive Officer, Sabarimala, immediately. The Mandala–Makaravilakku festival season of 1200 M.E.
(2024–25) has since concluded.
3. We are informed that the Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham has submitted a fresh application before the Travancore Devaswom Board offering its services for the festival season of 1201 M.E. (2025–26).
4. When the matter was taken up for consideration today, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Travancore Devaswom Board submitted that the said application dated 14.11.2025 was duly considered and was rejected by the competent authority by order dated 08.12.2025.
5. In view of the fact that the Mandala–Makaravilakku festival season of
1201 M.E. (2025–26) has already commenced, this Court is of the considered view that no further orders are required to be passed in this application, as no substantive issue survives for adjudication.
Reserving the liberty of the Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham or the additional respondents t o raise their grievance, if any, against the order dated
08.12.2025, this application is closed.
