Dated this the 13th day of January, 2026 ORDER Aggrieved by the conviction and sentence passed by the Court of the Judicial First Class Magistrate-II, Kodungallur in ST No.80/2023 (Trial Court) against the petitioner for allegedly committing the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act , in a complaint filed by the 1st respondent, the petitioner preferred Crl.A.No.11/2025 before the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Irinjalakuda (Appellate court). Along with the appeal, the petitioner also filed an application to suspend the execution of the sentence. By Annexure A1 order, the Appellate Court suspended the sentence subject to the condition that the petitioner deposits 20% of the fine amount within 60 days and executes a bond for Rs.50,000/- with two solvent sureties for the like sum to the satisfaction of the Trial Court. As the petitioner was unable to deposit the above amount within the stipulated time period, she filed an application seeking enlargement of time.
