JUDGMENT

Petitioner's property has been acquired, which is the subject matter of L.A.R (N.H) No.1/2024 before the Additional District Court-II, Kollam. Originally, the compensation amount was deposited in the joint names of respondents 1 and 2. Subsequently, the amount was transferred and deposited before the said District Court. The compensation amount is now lying as a deposit with the District Court concerned. All what the petitioner seeks in this Writ Petition is to transfer the amount to a nationalised bank, so as to fetch interest.

2. The respondents have no objection in this regard.

3. In the circumstances, there will be a direction to the Additional District Judge-II, Kollam to take steps to deposit the amount in a nationalised bank appropriately, so as to ensure that the amount fetches interest, by the time, the Land Acquisition case, as also, an Appeal, if any, therefrom is decided finally.

Let the above direction be complied with, without any fail, at the earliest.

This Writ Petition will stand disposed of, as above.
