Dated this the 22nd day of January, 2026 This application is filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita , 2023 (for short, BNSS ), seeking pre-arrest bail.
2. The applicant is the accused No.6 in Crime No.23/2025 of Cyber Crime Police Station, Kollam District. The offences alleged are punishable under Sections 3 18 (4), 319(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita , 2023 and Section 66D of the Information Technology Act , 2008.
3. The prosecution case, in short, is that the de facto complainant saw an advertisement in an online platform regarding online job. The de facto complainant showed interest in the same. The accused in the case, who are six in numbers, committed impersonation and contacted the de facto complainant and made her and her husband to transfer an amount of Rs.13,96,800/- towards several accounts and the said amounts were withdrawn by the accused and thereby the accused committed the alleged offences.
