Petitioner, who was working as Typist in Kudumbasree State Mission Office, Thiruvananthapuram, has approached this Court seeking to allow the petitioner to continue in service till he attains 60 years of age or till the cessation of the project. 2. The petitioner has been working as Typist in Kudumbasree State Mission. For employments under the respondents, the age of retirement on superannuation is 58 years. The petitioner submits that in similar institutions, the employees are permitted to continue till the age of 60 years. Therefore, the petitioner should also be permitted to continue in service till he attains 60 years.

3. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader representing the respondents.

4. The specific case of the petitioner is that the staff of IMG and Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment retires only at the age of 60 years. After the introduction of National Pension Scheme in Kerala, the Government employees should subscribe NPS. Therefore, the staff in Kudumbasree Mission are also entitled to continue in service till the age of 60 years.

5. Be that as it may, from the pleadings, I find that the petitioner has preferred Ext.P7 representation before the 1st respondent in this regard. As what is involved is a policy matter, I am of the view that the 1st respondent can take a decision in accordance with law on the grievance raised by the petitioner.

In the facts of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to consider Ext.P7 representation and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of two months.
