Court dismisses petition for extension of auction payment deadline as the issue became infructuous.

Headnote:The petitioner sought a direction for extending the payment deadline in an auction conducted on 11.02.2020, until 30.08.2020. As the relief requested was limited in time and had become infructuous, the Court ruled to close the writ petition. The Court determines that the matter no longer requires adjudication as the request for an extension is obsolete.

JUDGMENT

(Dated this the 28th day of January, 2026)

The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondent to extend the time for payment of the balance amount in the auction conducted on 11.02.2020 till 30.08.2020.

Though notice before admission was ordered on 13.07.2020, the writ petition was not posted before the Bench thereafter. Since the relief sought is only for extension of time till 30.08.2020, the matter has become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed.
