2026 Supreme(Online)(Ker) 6228

IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAM
P.V. KUNHIKRISHNAN, J
KUMARAN C – Appellant
Versus
THE REVENUE DIVISIONAL OFFICER – Respondent
RP NO. 45 OF 2026 | WP(C) NO.47178 OF 2025

Advocates:
For the Appellants/Petitioners: SRI.T.C.SURESH MENON, SRI.B.DEEPAK
For the Respondents: SR GP SMT VIDYA KURIAKOSE

The court allows a review petition due to the incorrect title of a respondent in a previous judgment, leading to its restoration.

Headnote:The statutory basis for the review petition pertains to correcting the title of the respondent in the earlier judgment dated 16.12.2025 in WP

(C) No.47178 of 2025. Key facts include the identification error related to the Revenue Divisional Officer's designation. The Court has affirmed that the incorrect title warrants a review and the original judgment is recalled, restoring the writ petition. The Court framed the issue of incorrect respondent identification in its assessment and concluded that the petitioner's request for correction is justified. Resultantly, the review petition is allowed, and the earlier judgment is invalidated, restoring the writ petition.

ORDER

This review petition is filed to review the judgment dated 16.12.2025 in WP(C) No.47178/2025, stating that the 1st respondent arrayed in the cause-title is incorrect and instead of ‘Revenue Divisional Officer, Palakkad’, it is shown as Revenue Divisional Officer, Ottappalam’. Hence this review petition.

Therefore, this review petition is allowed. The judgment dated 16.12.2025 in WP(C) No.47178/2025 is recalled. The writ petition is restored.
