JUDGMENT
The petitioner maintains fixed deposits with the
4th respondent bank. According to the petitioner, after his retirement from the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), he deposited his entire retirement benefits in fixed deposits, and despite their maturity, the amounts due to him have not been paid. It is the case of the petitioner that the amounts are urgently required in connection with the marriage of the petitioner’s daughter. It is also submitted that the amounts payable to the petitioner, together with interest, have now been transferred to the savings bank account of the petitioner.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the
4th respondent submits that the 4th respondent is facing a severe financial crisis. It is submitted that the 4th respondent shall disburse the amounts due to the petitioner in 20 equal monthly instalments. It is submitted that the petitioner may withdraw the amounts by issuing a cheque from his savings bank account.
3. Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the 4th respondent, this writ petition will stand disposed of directing as follows:
i. The entire amount lying to the credit
