Eligibility for employment sponsorship can be influenced by age restrictions and prior registration with the employment exchange.

Headnote:The petitioner seeks direction for employment sponsorship despite being overaged, based on her qualifications. The court finds that the petitioner cannot maintain the writ due to the overage status. The main issue revolves around eligibility for employment sponsorship given the age limitation. The final ruling dismisses the writ petition due to the petitioner's age.

JUDGMENT

Dated this the 29th day of January, 2026 The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to direct the respondents to sponsor the petitioner for employment based on her technical qualification of Typewriting Lower and Higher against any of the vacancies existing, irrespective of the fact that she has crossed the age of 50.

2. The petitioner states that she had registered her name with the Employment Exchange in 1991. She has not been sponsored for any employment. In the year 2020, the petitioner was called for an interview for appointment as part-time Sweeper, but she was not selected presumably due to the fact that she was overaged.

As the petitioner is overaged by now, the petitioner cannot maintain a writ petition seeking to sponsor her for employment. The writ petition is hence dismissed.
