J U D G M E N T
The petitioner is the registered owner of a goods carriage vehicle with registration No. KL-40 V-7668. The limited relief sought by the petitioner is to, permit the petitioner to pay the arrears of motor vehicle tax for the period from 01.01.2025 to 31.03.2026.
2. The learned Government Pleader, upon instructions submitted that, as on date, the petitioner is liable to pay an amount of Rs. 1,43,861/-, which includes motor vehicles tax payable, pertaining to the period referred to above along with the additional tax and interest.
3. After considering the limited nature of the relief sought by the petitioner, I am of the view that, one opportunity can be granted to the petitioner. Accordingly this writ petition is disposed of, permitting the petitioner to pay the motor vehicle tax, along with additional tax and interest that is payable thereon, in ten monthly installments. The first installment shall become due on 03.03.2026, and the subsequent installments shall fall due on the 3rd day of succeeding months.
In case of any default by the petitioner in paying any of the installments, this facility shall stand cancelled. In such an event, it shall be open to the respondents
