The petitioner seeks that Ext. P1, in the original petition pending before the learned Family Court, Thrissur, be directed to be taken up and disposed of within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner, however, also admits that she has filed Ext.P3 application, seeking the same relief, from the above said court; and alternatively seeks that the same be directed to be allowed, so that a time frame for disposing of the original petition can be fixed.

3. We called for a report from the learned Family Court, which is now available.

4. The learned court has reported that the original petition can be disposed of within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. However, the learned judge also informs us that, on account of a medical emergency, he is likely to be on leave from the middle of February, till the end of March 2026.

5. We have no doubt that the time frame suggested by the learned family court is apposite.

In the above circumstances, we allow this Original Petition, directing the learned Family Court to endeavor to dispose of the original petition within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this jud
