Dated this the 5th day of February 2026 J U D G M E N T The prayers in this Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India are as follows:-
“I. Issue a writ mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to supervise the investigation with respect to (Exhibt-P1) Crime No. 1086/2025 of Enathu Police Station, Pathanamthitta District for an impartial investigation.
ii. Issue a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent investigating officer to complete the investigation in Exhibt-P1 Crime No. 1086/2025 in Enathu Police Station, Pathanamthitta District and produce its final report before the court below as early as possible for a fair verdict in Exhibt-P2 connected case against petitioner.”
2.The learned Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the investigation is in progress and would be completed only after receipt of the report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
3.In view of the above, the 4th respondent is directed to expedite the investigation.
4.The Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) will take necessary steps to complete the examination of the disputed cheque at the earliest.
With the aforesaid submissions, the writ petition is closed.
