The Government of Kerala has notified the amendment to the Kerala Land Assignment (Amendment) Rules, 2026 on 20.01.2026. The said amendment, incorporating the proposed rule, came into force on the same day. A copy of the notification by which the amendment to the Kerala Land Assignment Rules , 1964 was published has been filed by the State.

2. In view thereof, no further orders need be passed in this writ petition. The grievance of the petitioner has been adequately redressed and the writ petition stands disposed of.

3. The learned counsel for additional respondent No.19 has submitted that the Amended Rules has not been given any retrospective effect, whereby the position of the said respondent might get effected.

The said issue cannot be decided in this writ petition.

We make it clear that we have not gone into merits of the issue.
