This application is filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short, BNSS ), seeking pre-

arrest bail.

2. The applicant is the sole accused in Crime No.82/2026 of Meppadi Police Station, Wayanad District. The offences alleged are punishable under Sections 331 (4) and 75(1)(ii) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 8 read with Section 7 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 . 3. The prosecution case, in short, is that the applicant, who is the neighbor of the survivor aged 16 years residing at Kalladi in Vellarimala Amsom, had trespassed into her house on 25.01.2026 at 01:50 hours with criminal intent, sexually assaulted her by caressing her left leg with sexual intent and thereby committed the aforementioned offences.
