ORDER

This application is filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short, BNSS ), seeking pre-

arrest bail.

2. The applicant is the accused in Crime No.1468/2025 of Punalur Police Station, Kollam District. The offences alleged are punishable under Sections 281 , 125(a), 125(b) and 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (for short, ‘ BNS ’) and Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 .

3. The prosecution case, in short, is that on 07.10.2025 at 7.00 p.m., the applicant drove a pickup van bearing registration No. KL-46-K-3634 under the influence of liquor, in a manner likely to cause death of the passengers on the road and had hit an auto-rickshaw causing death of the driver of the auto-rickshaw and injuries to two passengers in the autorickshaw and thereby committed the offences.

4. I have heard Sri.Prakash Mathew Panjikaran, the learned counsel for the applicant and Smt.Sreeja V., the learned Senior Public Prosecutor. Perused the case diary.
