This application is filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita , 2023 (for short, BNSS ), seeking regular bail.
2. The applicant is the sole accused in Crime No. 662/2024 of the Cantonment Police Station, Thiruvananthapuram District. The offences alleged are punishable under Sections 354 , 354 A(1)(i) and 354 A(1)(iv) of IPC and Sections 7 , 8, 9(l), 9(p), 10, 11(i), 11(ii) and 12 of the POCSO Act .
3. The prosecution case, in short, is that the applicant, who was a cricket coach in the Kerala Cricket Association, committed rape on his own students and thereby committed the aforesaid offences.
4. I have heard Sri. Sreejith S. Nair, the learned counsel for the applicant and Sri. K.A. Noushad, the learned Senior Public Prosecutor. Perused the case diary.
5. This Court dismissed the bail application filed by the applicant on earlier occasion as per Annexure -A2 order with a direction to the Sessions Court to dispose of the case within a period of five months on receipt of the Forensic Science Laboratory Report.
