The court directed timely consideration of permit applications under the Motor Vehicles Act.

JUDGMENT

The writ petition is filed with the following prayers.

“i. Issue a writ of mandamus for other appropriate writs direction or orders directing the 2^nd respondent to consider Exhibit P-4 application for temporary permit under Section 87 (1)(d) of the Motor Vehicles Act and issue the same enabling the petitioner to operate on the route Kozhikode-Palayam Bus Stand Via Areekode in respect of stage carriage KL 53 7788 till the renewal application is finally decided by the 1^st respondent;

ii. Issue a writ of mandamus for other appropriate writs direction or orders directing the 1^st respondent to consider Exhibit P-2 application for renewal of regular permit in respect of stage carriage KL 53 7788 to operate on the route Kozhikode-Palayam Bus Stand Via Areekode; iii. To dispense with the production of English Translation of documents which are in vernacular language;

iv. Render such other orders as are deemed fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.”

2. Taking note of the fact that Ext.P4 application for a temporary permit is pending consideration before the second respondent, there will be a direction to the said respondent to pass orders on the same, in accordance with law, within three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
