IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAM
HARISANKAR V. MENON, J
C.C. WILLIAM VERGHESE – Appellant
Versus
THE STATION HOUSE OFFICER ELAMAKKARA POLICE STATION – Respondent
JUDGMENT
The petitioners have approached this Court seeking the following reliefs:
“To issue a writ of mandamus or other appropriate writ, order or direction commanding Respondent Nos.1 and 2 to give necessary and adequate police protection to the lives and properties of petitioners and their family members, who are residing at Edapally, from respondent No.3 and her henchmen as requested in Exhibits P5 and P6.”
2. While admitting the writ petition on 4.4.2023, the following order was passed by this Court:
“There will be an interim order directing the 1st respondent to give adequate protection to the life of the petitioner and his family and to the residential house of the petitioner at Edapally for a period of two months.”
3. The learned Government Pleader, on the basis of the instructions received, submits that the petitioners and the 3rd respondent are residing far apart and, therefore, there is no threat as alleged in the writ petition.
In any event, insofar as the petitioners only seek protection to the life of the petitioners and his family, I dispose of the writ petition by making the interim order dated 4.4.2023 absolute. Sd/-
