IN THE HIGH COURT OF KERALA AT ERNAKULAM
MOHAMMED NIAS C.P., J
MOHAMMED ISHAQ K. M. – Appellant
Versus
UNION OF INDIA – Respondent
JUDGMENT
The writ petition is filed with the following prayers:-
i. Issue a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider and process the petitioner’s Ext. P2 application for renewal of his passport that was damaged, without insisting on production of an FIR.
ii. Issue such other and further writs, orders or directions as this Hon’ble Court deems fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.
iii. Dispense with the filing of the translation of vernacular documents.
2. The learned DSGI, on instructions, submits that the petitioner has not forwarded the passport lost certificate from the police concerned, and that was the reason why orders could not be passed.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that Exts.P5 and P6 would show that the same was received and forwarded. 4. Be that as it may, there will be a direction to the petitioner to produce the passport lost certificate before the 2nd respondent. On production of the same, the 2nd respondent will pass orders on the application for renewal in accordance with law, within three weeks from the date of receipt of the certificate from the petitioner.
The Writ petition is disposed of as above.
