Dated this the 23^rd day of February, 2026 J U D G M E N T The first petitioner is a patient undergoing treatment for kidney-related problems at the Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam. The second petitioner is the proposed donor. The petitioners have approached this Court seeking the following reliefs:-

“a. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the 2nd respondent to transfer Ext.P10 order along with the applications and the documents to the 3rd respondent and direct the 3rd respondent to permit the petitioners to undergo unrelated renal transplantation surgery at Westfort Hospital, Thrissur, on the strength of Ext.P10 order;

b. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P13 representation, within a time stipulated by this Hon’ble Court.”

2. When the second petitioner came to know about the disease of the first petitioner, he expressed his readiness to donate his kidney.
